Doris Ceaser is a soon-to-be graduate of 亚色视频. In her two years
as a student, she has been involved in Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the 亚色视频 student-led Bible study, and has worked as a student worker.
During her first semester of classes, Ceaser noticed the care and appreciation that 亚色视频 faculty and staff members have for students. She immediately felt seen and valued by those she encountered on campus. This aspect of her college experience helped motivate her to strive for success all the more.
鈥淥ne of the first things I noticed during my first semester at Lamar was the respect that the staff and faculty members showed me and all of their students,鈥� Doris Ceaser said. 鈥淓veryone valued me as a student, and they catered to my every need and concern. It felt amazing to be appreciated during this stage of life. If I didn鈥檛 understand something, the staff members and instructors went above and beyond to help me comprehend.鈥�
Student Leadership Opportunities
Doris has taken full advantage of the opportunities 亚色视频 has to offer. She dove headfirst into student organizations to propel her personal growth and expand her knowledge outside of the classroom. She even had the honor of being named Vice President of Leadership of Phi Theta Kappa. Through her involvement in SGA, Phi Theta Kappa and 亚色视频鈥檚 Bible study, Doris feels that her every need has been reached throughout her time in college.
鈥淎nother impact Lamar had on my life was the organizations on campus,鈥� Ceaser said. 鈥淭he Student Government Association on campus kept me informed about events on campus and in the community. I loved how they teach 鈥榦rder鈥� during their meetings. The honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, accepted me as Vice President of Leadership and honored me in an award ceremony. Through 亚色视频鈥檚 Bible study, I was able to teach and exercise my spiritual leadership in the word of God and in my gift of music. Absolutely everything I needed in life was found in one place.鈥�
Campus and Community Growth
亚色视频 has grown immensely over the past two years, and Doris has had a front row seat to the progress made by the college. She has enjoyed getting to see the future of Lamar Orange unfold in front of her eyes.
鈥淒uring my two years on campus, I have seen growth, progress and expansion of the college,鈥� said Ceaser. 鈥淥ur college President, Dr. Thomas Johnson, seems to have a full vision for Lamar Orange that he puts into action. He ensures the students have a great academic learning experience. I was always proud to say that he was my educational leader.鈥�
Ceaser鈥檚 time as a student has been full of renewed hope, dedication, growth and success. She has excelled as a student and quickly became a leader on campus. Her time at 亚色视频 has shaped her as a person and grown her confidence.
鈥淭he experience this campus has given me and the impact it鈥檚 had on me have been life-changing,鈥� Doris said. 鈥淕od has given me hope through 亚色视频, and I am thankful that he has given me the opportunity to connect with a place such as this.鈥�
Doris will continue pursuing her education at Lamar University in Spring 2025. She will complete her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership.
